1) KEEP THEM AWAY FROM MAGNETIC FIELDS
a) This includes metal detectors and house magnets
b) Since they need to handle their own magnetic charges, adding more confuses them.
2) Dust your memory tower (yearly basis)
a) Clogs can cause the tower and motor to overheat
b) You can buy air canned sprays that are specially made to dust PCs
c) Most importantly, DO NOT CLEAN OR TOUCH THE CORE OF ANY PART YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX!
3) ALWAYS have a GOOD ANTI-VIRUS!
a) Cleaning your cookies is not enough.
b) Beware of downloads, they might have fake certification that assures you they are safe! BEWARE! Only download stuff from trusted sites.
c) Do not rely on Systematic or Norton.
d) Try disconnecting your computer from the internet if it is not being used.
e) Do not download things illegally, not only is it virus prone, but it will more than likely eat away at your system, and when you realize you've been fooled, it will be too late.
Never click on cheese advertisements, they are viruses.
1) Carrying cases
a) Try to always keep them in hard cases. Remember, gel cases only protect them from scratches.
b) Do not throw them into purses or backpacks.
2) Keep them away from water
a) Keep them away from water, but clean them; they are full of germs. (Think of not washing your hands when you go to the bathroom and putting them on your face.)
b) Try using a damp cloth first and then a dry one.
c) Buttons tend to get sticky from greasy foods. Try cotton swabs to clean in between the buttons.
d) They also sweat during spring so do not stuff them into bags.
3) Like many other electronic devices, KEEP AWAY from magnetic fields.
a) Credit cards can alter your battery life , and vice versa.
b) Your credit cards can stop working if placed on top of your phone, but it’s okay to have them close by, just not on top of each other.
4) Do not overcharge them.
a) Batteries tend to last longer if you charge them only when needed.
b) Try not to charge them too often. (laptops too)
c) Hook them off the charger after they are fully charged.
5) Keep it working
a) Don't Blow into Cartridges for games
* ) You will have to do it every time for it to work if you do so.
b) Re-insert cards if the object won't read them (includes SD cards)
c) Keep discs clean and scratch free, this will save you stress when trying to use them
Remember to always READ FINE PRINT. Most electronics come with a year warranty, and pre-owned with a 30-90 day warranties. Pay attention to what you are buying.
